America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag is the second book by Sarah Palin, heas been released on today, November 23, 2010. The book is a collection of experiences from Mrs. Palin’s most famous speeches, sermons, and inspirational works, as well as stories about Americans whom she met in the fall of 2009 while on her book tour for Going Rogue: An American Life. It has been reported that 1,000,000 copies have been printed for the first run, and a digital edition is also available on the day the book is released.
Mike Huckabee acknowledged on Sunday while in Iowa that Sarah Palin would indeed make a formidable opponent when she decides to run for US President. He said that there was no question that if and when she runs for President that she would make for a strong candidate and indicated that she may even “run away with it”. She will be in Iowas herself twice in the near future promoting Sarah Palin’s new book, America By Heart.
This is in odd disagreement with what Barbara Bush said in a recent interview. She suggested that Mrs. Palin, though a beautiful woman, is happy about being from Alaska and suggested that Mrs. Palin should stay in Alaska. It would seem that the Republican establishment really does not know what to think about Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin’s new book, America By Heart will be released soon, and a Federal judge actually ordered a website who published early excerpts from the book to remove them. Mrs. Palin is describing her book as “my view of America and what has made her great,” and says much of her current inspiration comes from conservative icon Ronald Reagan.
These excerpts, which were released on Saturday November 20, 2010, are widely considered to be more inspiring than politically minded than the ones that were order to be taken down. A District Court Judge on Saturday ordered this website, which will remain unmentioned here, to stop distributing, publishing, or otherwise transmitting pages from Mrs. Palin’s new book until a hearing scheduled for November 30.
Mrs. Palin’s daughter, Bristol, is also doing very well on dancing with the stars. She has made the finals of the show, surprising many. She has defeated the lines of pop starrt Brandi and Jennifer Grey who was taught to dance while filming “Dirty Dancing” many years ago. There are some that suspect that there is a conspiracy of sorts that is keepoing the young Mrs. Palin in the show.
Perhaps the thought that she is a genuinely talented young lady who is deserving of her place on the show has not occurred to these people. This show will be concluding soon, and we will see how the younger Mrs. Palin will do in the finals. She is also receiving support from the likes of Sanjaya from American Idol who many thought also hung around on that show long past his “sell-by” date.
It is in fact difficult to get away from Sarah Palin or her family these days. She has a reality show, is a contributor on Fox News, is releasing her new book America By Heart, and is on all of the news casts which follow her every word.
When Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain’s running partner for the 2008 United States Presidential and Vice Presidential race, thousands sat wondering who this woman is? Someone who is a working mother of five children, she is youthful, and she still manages to have pulled GOP ratings by the horns anywhere she wills them to be pulled. Many have described this self-proclaimed hockey mom as more of a wonder woman or a super mom; someone who manages to lead such a full life and influences those around to live positively as well.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin attracted woman voters in America because of her ability to be a forefront figure in politics and talk about impertinent issues while maintaining her female disposition. No one wants a woman to act like a man of course. The Sarah Palin biography has been researched countless times by people across the country and the world just so that they find out all about this woman of substance who has taken American hearts by storm.
People like Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s pro-life personality. She makes herself relatable to not just mothers but all sorts of women as well as the modern day men who aren’t afraid to let a woman in their family have her own life.
However, despite being from a Republican party, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has dealt with her own fair share of controversies since she came into the spotlight in 2008. Blamed by certain Christian conservatives to be leading a life with “un-family” values, Sarah Palin is continuously blamed for bad parenting skills. Examples are her decision to run for elections despite having a 5 month baby who suffers from Down Syndrome, along with 4 older children. To top it all off, a few months later the entire world heard of her 17 year old daughter Bristol Palin being pregnant out of wedlock. This news would be damaging to any parent, but added grandparent responsibilities aren’t the only problem Sarah Palin has to face. The fact that her family is from a conservative republican background leads to further pressure on the family and the campaign of Palin for President 2010.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s parenting skills are further criticized due to the limitless coverage of Bristol and her child’s father Levi’s escapades in front of the camera and press. Twenty four hour news coverage of the pair, Bristol’s pregnancy, and Sarah Palin photos have made her family face the brunt of both women’s choices. Pressure also came in real life because as a Republican, one of Sarah Palin’s pro-life stances required the elimination of the abortion. Faced with her own teenage child becoming a mother, Sarah Palin certainly proved her belief in her own policies by allowing her daughter to continue with the pregnancy.
Also, many people have questioned how exactly Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is a role model for women across the country. She isn’t a single mother who has to work at a shop like Wal-Mart to pay her bills; she can afford to take maternity leave and probably can get home early if her kids are ill. She doesn’t need to worry about her children’s education and college tuition money because there are others worrying about that. So how exactly does that make her a perfect role model for women? Isn’t someone coming from a background like this more suitable? Someone who made herself and her family thrive despite these reservations?
Although Sarah Palin has been tagged as the most successful female politician of United States, she has also been a victim to various controversies. The famous American political figure, presenter, writer, and the political news reviewer has been accused of corruption by various sources. In fact many people thought one of the reasons for her resignation was the various inquiries and request for public records which was also a hindrance for her capability to work effectually.
To add upon this situation, on July 21, 2009, it was found by an independent detective that there were possibilities that Sarah Palin may have dishonored the state law via her status to collect money for legal fund. However, these are all allegations yet to be proved. In addition to this various other disagreements have also been emphasized by the media. For example, her recent conflict with a teacher protesting against her on August 8, 2010. Another example is the speaking contract conflict with the California State University in 2010. She has also been questioned on violating laws on the basis of ethical grounds. She was accused of defilement of laws based on ethical grounds when she dismissed Alaska public safety officer and after some time she fired a very old local police officer. According to the reporting channel ABC news, both the dismissals were done on inadequate reasons. The local police officer was sacked as he was abiding by the law and getting the bar closed on time specified by law but as the bar owners were Palin’s campaign donors. Whereas the other dismissal was done because the public safety officer didn’t agree to lay off one of the state troopers who was the administrator’s brother in law and was experiencing a separation with governor’s sister.
All these have contributed in dropping her fame among the general public, even in her hometown of Alaska. On November 2, 2008, CNN released results of a poll it conducted. According to this, 57 % people voted that Sarah Palin lacks the qualities expected for a head of the state. Similarly, the results of a poll held on the ABC channel on November 3rd exposed that 46% of people thought having Palin on the ticket will make them less likely to show support for McCain.
Despite all these controversies, sources report that Sarah Palin is running for President in 2012 ignoring the fact that she lost her campaign “Sarah Palin for vice president.” When asked about this by an interviewer from Fox news, Sarah Palin quotes,”I would be willing to if I believe that it’s right for the country.” She also added, “I won’t close the door that perhaps could be open for me in the future.”
Steps also have been taken from her side to remove any misconceptions that have been created in the minds of the customers. For this reason, the Sarah Palin Website has been developed to interact with her followers, to provide Sarah Palin pictures for all the happenings she carries out, and to keep supporters updated with her activities. However, unswerving high approval ratings have made her one of the most famous Governors present in America.
Sarah Palin stated on Wednesday that she felt she could defeat President Barak Obama if she decides to run, and that she is in fact considering a run for high office. She is currently deliberating on whether or not this would be a good thing both for her family and for the Country. She is quoted during an interview with ABC news and Barbara Walters that will air on December 9.
Mrs. Walters directly asked Sarah Palin if Mrs. Palin believed that she could defeat the President if she were to run. Mrs. Palin directly answered that she believed that she could.
In another interview Mrs. Palin talked about her hands on way of organizing her political activities and that she will need a large group of trusted advisers before she can make a credible run for the office. Also, any interaction with the press corse must personally be approved by Mrs. Palin herself, as well of course as any personal appearances by Mrs. Palin. She also has been quoted that she fears for the safty of our democracy because of the unfair treatment that she has received from members of the national press corp.
Should Sarah decide to run for high office, she will face the challenge of persuading the American public that she is indeed qualified for the office. Unfortunately, Mrs. Palin’s negative ratings are high, with over 50% of the respondants having an unfavorable feeling towards her.
In fact, a long time adversary of Sara Palin within Alaska in Lisa Murkowski, a current Senator from the state. It appears that Mrs. Murkowski will keep her seat over the significant efforts of Joe Miller, a Palin-endorsed candidate. This victovry is doubly surprising as Miller was strongly endorsed by Mrs. Palin and that many of the votes for Murkowski came as write-in votes. Many of thse write-in votes spelled the Senator’s name wrong, but even if this were not counted, Mrs. Murkowski has declared victory.
Wide respected Republican strategist, Karl Rove, has suggested in recent interviews that Sarah Palin does not have the dignity to be President, thoughhe has said in the past she she would make a formidable opponent. On the positive side, the premiere of her new show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, drew a record level of ratings for the network at 4.96 million viewers.
She acknowledged that she would be expected by the public to prove her record and that this might not be expected of some of the other likely Republican candidates. She also expressed frustration as the mainstream media’s tendency to create scandal and ridicule for her, rather than covering her record and qualifications.
Sarah Palin for President 2012 is surely going to happen because of two reasons. Firstly, Ms. Palin is all set to take on the Presidential elections and has already started campaigning for them. Secondly, even as per the rules laid down by the Republic Party, they will surely nominate Sarah Palin as President in 2012. Sarah Palin was the youngest and the only woman candidate from the Republic Party to be nominated to compete in the Presidential elections for the post of Vice President. Though she couldn’t win it then because of her meager experience and some big blunders, this time Sarah Palin as President is in full form and all set to take United States of America by storm.
Sarah Palin for President 2012 seems possible to a lot of analysts because of a very strong reason. Many economists believe that for America to prosper and stay strong in future, it is very essential to adapt to the free market approach. Sarah Palin is a very sturdy believer of the free market and considers it important for the development of any country. Palin for President will for sure get support from the economist and analyst block because of her inclination towards the open economic model.
Palin as President is accepted by the media as well, as we see major news channels talking and debating about the possibilities of Sarah Palin President 2012. In a recent interview given to a leading news channel, Ms. Palin talks about her views for competing in the Presidential elections in 2012. Ms. Palin is all open to compete for the place of the President, though she diplomatically said that she might not compete if there is some one more strong and suitable than herself. Ms. Palin has already been criticizing President Obama’s policies and attributes his failure to his lack of experience in the field of politics. And now that President Obama has lost mid-term elections, it surely is a clear indication that American people aren’t very happy with him, hence paving way for Ms. Palin
In the above situation, Sarah Palin for President 2012 seems a pretty viable option to any sane American. She has been working on improving her public image and has been successful to a great extent; she now sounds like a politician who knows what she is talking about. She even has learned the art of diplomatically handling questions and giving answers that makes absolutely no sense and that way nobody can blame her for anything. She has been attending public gathering and have been addressing and talking about the current government’s failure and what she might do if given the chance to become the President.
Sarah Palin for President 2012 seems to be a suitable candidate not just in terms of her political understanding of the situation of United States of American, also because, after years the world would get to see a pleasant face, and a charming and a bold personality, Sarah Palin President of USA. She is for sure a dynamic lady with a can do attitude, and it can be hopped that she will bring a positive change for not just USA but for the world.
Sarah Palin Alaska, first women Governor, is famous in the United States of America for her bold and young looks and her sex appeal, which are quite uncommon in most of the female politicians across the globe. Sarah Palin is surely way younger than most of the women in politics. She became the Governor of Alaska at the age of 42 and hence Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is considered to be youngest in this regard. Sarah Palin is very different from the prevailing bunch of politician in a lot of ways. Some of them are briefly discussed below:
-
She is way more beautiful and younger than most of the female politicians who are still in politics or have been a part of politics previously.
-
She has no prior political experience and doesn’t even belong to a political family; she is a self made woman who had strong beliefs in her dreams and worked hard towards them and made things happen for her.
-
She even has weird experiences and jobs to her name as well. She was the runner-up in the Miss Alaska competition. She has taken jobs including sports journalism and commercial fishermen along with her husband.
Sarah Palin Alaska, former beauty contest runner up, is famous for a lot of other things than her political career. Sarah Palin photos are one of the most published pictures over the internet. People love seeing pictures of her and hence, they can be found in abundance when one even types the name Sarah Palin in any of the search engines. Not just this, but even on You Tube Sarah Palin is very famous. One will surely find as many as 1000 videos of Sarah Palin, either made for Sarah Palin or in some way are related to Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin Alaska Governor has recently acclaimed a lot of popularity when her biography was published. The Sarah Palin biography revealed some more interesting facts about her life. People are inclined towards Sarah Palin because of varied reasons including her beauty, her positive attitude towards life, her controversial statements, and her stupidity. One might be interested in any aspect of her personality, but she surely excites and fascinates most Americans.
Sarah Palin just loves to stay in the news be it because of her beauty, intellect, or anything else. Sarah Palin Alaska former Governor is a mother of five children and is admired for the love she has for her children, especially when she didn’t opt for abortion when her child was diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome. Here we see yet another reason for Ms. Palin to stay in the news. Sarah Palin Alaska’s most famous woman surely has the charm and the luck that makes most Americans think of her and makes them reach the conclusion that she surely deserves another chance at the Presidency. She is one of the most famous politicians when it comes to search engines. Most people are either looking for her photos or videos rather than her speeches.
Apparently, a reporter from the New Your Times (NYT) was given access to Sarah Palin’s inner circle and has published an article with juicy details on her camp’s status of running for president. In one of the clearest statements yet about her intentions to launch a campaign for the US Presidency, she is quoted as saying that she is very seriously considering a run in 2012.
She apparently told the NYT reporter that she is indeed weighing the decision right now whether or not to run for President. That further indicated that she is engaged in the internal deliberations and is having discussions with her family, and that their considerations are the most important for her.
Mrs. Palin is further quoted as saying that there are no real substantive policy differences right now within the field of likely GOP candidates but that there is much more to the presidency than policy, and that her decision regarding whether or not she will run revolves around whether or not she can bring a unique set of qualities to the table.
Further, she told the reporter that if she makes a run, she would certainly have to bring in large numbers of people that she describes as trustworthy. She talked about and defended her reticence to speak to national reporters, saying that the elite media focus more on her personal life, is simply looking for distractions, and that they distort her record.
She is quoted as saying that she will have to prove her record, and that this is a challenge that some of the other likely candidates will not have to face. Say says that the most frustrating challenge for her is the warped and perverted description of her record and what she has been able to accomplish over the last two decades. She further says that she is perplexed that at the “lamestream” media’s propensity and desire to simply cover her personal life, and that other likely candidates have not had to face this particular challenge in the same way that she has.
Mrs. Palin clearly feels that anything she says to the national media representatives will likely be distorted and ridiculed. She seems to believe that the national elite media have a desire to make her look less attractive as a candidate and will publish a distortion of her comments and of her accomplishments in an attempt to get President Obama an advantage over her. She seems to feel that if she speaks to the national media at all, it will be through Fox News, which seems to be the most favorable and most fair treatment that she gets within the media.
She is often an individual contributors there at Fox News, which allows her to speak directly to the people without the distortion or filter that the commentators place onto her words and views. This allows here to get her message directly out and allows the viewers to more clearly and directly hear her words. She can definitely be an advantage that some of the likely candidates will not have.
Sarah Palin as President of the United States is claimed to be the only way that 2010 will become the year that a “commonsense conservative woman gets things done” for the United States. Sarah Palin is a woman who happens to be a mother, a wife, as well as a popular American Politician, speaker, political news commentator, and author. She was the youngest, as well as the first, woman to have gotten elected to a Governor post in the United States back in 2006. During her reign as governor, she was chosen by candidate John McCain to be his running mate in the US Presidential Race against President Obama making her the first female Vice President candidate from the Republican Party.
Making a run for the post, Sarah Palin as president seems to be a natural and inevitable path for her ever since the 2008 elections. Sarah Palin for President 2012 is what her actions have surely pointed towards, such as her resignation from her post as governor 18 months before the completion of the period hint towards her availability to allow a “Sarah Palin for president” campaign to follow. Described as a formidable force representing the Republican Party, rumors about Palin for President in the year 2012 began long before even the defeat of the McCain-Palin coalition in 2008.
A big chunk of support for the Sarah Palin as President Campaign comes from the moms of the United States. In one of her recent talks, Palin compares her worry about the countries’ policies that are fundamentally changing the country to a mother’s instinct about knowing when something’s going wrong. She also warns people “making the wrong decisions” about the anger of a mother being comparable with a pit bull. Just recently, she released a video that features patriotic, determined, and cheery women who are keen to become a part of the US politics. Dubbed as the mom “awakening” campaign, it should be interesting to see if she can convince homemakers as well as independent women across the US to come out and cast their vote in favor of Palin for President.
The Sarah Palin as President campaign will probably be the most energized campaign we’ve seen in the bid for the Oval Office in the White house. Her energy will neither have to be focused on new policies nor she will need to criticize Obama’s policies; her manner of emotionalizing every conversation is her biggest asset the way President Obama’s asset is convincing talking.
Her campaigners and her own spark of enthusiasm prove that the possibility of Sarah Palin as President is increasing day by day. Shaking off her almost comical image since her loss with McCain had not been an easy task. Now even consultants and experts, who had previously dismissed Palin as being a big name in the game, have given kudos to her new approach to campaigning by showing off her confident, sophisticated, and savvy side. They now believe in the possibility of Sarah for President 2012.
The Palin as President campaign won’t have to invest much or calculate options too much as she is already one of the most attractive political figures in the Unites States at this point. Over the past year since her resignation and the release of her autobiography “Going Rogue,” she has become even more visible and a political figure. Countless books selling, speaking, and punditry on Fox have made her a visible figure in the publics’ eye. Another book called “America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag,” is up next to be a bestselling book. She can adapt quickly and isn’t hesitant to learn what she doesn’t know. She’s extremely active on social media as well through Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
Known as the Joan of Arc of Alaskan politics, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin is currently one of the most popular local American Politician. No matter where she goes, Sarah Palin pictures will automatically be captured by one of her many fans or paparazzi. The entire political campaign, starting before the last American elections to date, has been documented through Sarah Palin pictures. As evident through the various magazine covers she graces, the number of photos that she has in newspapers and online, Palin’s prominence is a newsworthy or photographic worthy subject.
The Sarah Palin biography is incomplete if it doesn’t mention how completely Alaskan she is. She’s an extremely active “hockey” mom, she fishes on the ice, snowmobiles, lives on a lake, and she even hunts. Sarah Palin pictures have documented her political struggle while you can YouTube Sarah Palin for her official channel and other clips as well to get to know all about her.
These Sarah Palin pictures can cause undue rumors and beliefs about Sarah Palin, Alaskan Governor. For example, a rumor about the possibility of the governor having had surgery done on her breasts emerged because of pictures. These shots of her were taken at the Belmont Horse Race, where perhaps because of the angle of the photos, Ms. Palin appeared definitely bustier than usual for her. Many opponents and gossip columnists claimed that it was a move based on fueling her sexuality for her second run for political office. Cleverly titled “Boobgate,” this controversy was rejected by Sarah Palin herself.
Sarah Palin pictures gracing covers have had a history of controversy following them. Even during her first Presidential run, her photo graced the cover of Newsweek. It was a close up shot of the governor and it had apparently not been re-touched the way stars get retouched for their magazine cover shoots. As per the editorial staff, it was supposed to reflect the tag line of the article “One of the Folks.” For this purpose, her blemishes, wrinkles, facial hair, and pores were emphasized and “aggravated” as per Republican complaints. The complaints were sparked because her supporters claimed that the bad shot of her was meant to make the other candidate Obama’s photo look more Presidential.
This wasn’t the last of Newsweek cover controversies for Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin pictures were plastered on its August 2009 cover but this time the problem was the attire she was dressed in. There was a certain article in which she talked about healthy habits and her favorite sport, “running.” Because of the theme of the article, her photos in which she is dressed in her runner’s shorts with her legs on full display were tagged on Newsweek’s cover while the accompanying article was about her relevance as a political figure. Along with her Republican supporters, Palin spoke out against this “sexist” method of selling more magazines.
These Sarah Palin pictures lead to a lot of controversy, as expected. Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has inspired a wall of controversial paintings as well. A little bar called the Old Town Ale House based in Chicago, became famous for a wall of paintings that portray the Governor nude while carrying a gun in her hands. Bruce Elliot, the owner, says to have been inspired by Ms. Palin’s power that surpasses her gender.
Sarah Palin, over recent years has become a huge political celebrity icon in the US, and also around the world. The famous Sarah Palin speech methods, were apparent around the whole of America, and was commonly known as Governor Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin facts include being Governor of Alaska, very family orientated woman, and an established author. Sarah Palin was in office from 2006 to 2009. She was the first female governor in Alaska, but resigned due to threats of a lawsuit against her from political opponents. She also ran as vice Presidential Candidate for the 2008 election with John McCain.
Sarah Palin could be running for the Republicans in the next 2012 presidential election. However these rumors have not become true yet. Former Governor Sarah Palin is regarded as one of the most formidable forces in the whole Republican Party today. Sarah Palin started as a town councilor in Wasilla, Alaska. As an author, she released her own autobiography, which became a bestseller. A Sarah Palin speech is not likely to go unnoticed either, known for her rogue approach to matters and situations. Many of these Sarah Palin facts add to her elaborate personality.
Sarah Palin was born in Idaho and has 2 sisters and a brother. Sarah Palin, Alaska, attended University in Idaho, where she majored in Communications. Former Governor Sarah Palin was known for her beauty and popularity throughout college and high school. She finished third as Miss Alaska, and won the state championship as a member of the basketball team. She also attended university at Hawaii Pacific. She rose to fame firstly as her role as Governor of Alaska. The Sarah Palin speech was thought to be of significant importance to the state as a whole. Her min goals were education improvement and resource development. These Sarah Palin facts add to the fact she was very in favor of natural resource development such as gas and oil.
Sarah Palin has been heavily involved on improving Alaska, as Governor Sarah Palin, ever since she got into office. In 2008, she signed a bill authorizing TransCanada Pipelines to bring gas from Alaska to the rest of the USA. Sarah Palin speech included details about cutting construction budgets to around 1.6 billion dollars. Sarah Palin facts included dismissing a safety commissioner and generating more retail money to grow the economy. Sarah Palin, Alaska, resigned as governor for this state in 2009, citing pressure by lawyers to bring a lawsuit against her about complaints about ethics within the state.
2008 saw Sarah Palin run as Vice President in John McCain’s presidency campaign for the Republicans. Sarah Palin, Alaska, was a favorite of McCain’s, and he did not hesitate in appointing her his vice presidential candidate. A Sarah Palin Speech was addressed towards the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minnesota. Former Governor Sarah Palin was regarded as a real threat towards the Obama administration. However Obama prevailed and many thought Palin’s reign was over. Sarah Palin facts state that she may well run for the 2012 Presidency against Obama.
It would seem that the Republican establishment is now getting concerned that Sarah Palin and the Tea Party candidates she has backed are now pushing hard for a fundamental change to business as usual in Washington. It would seem that Palin and Co. want wholesale changes the political system but also to the fiscal policy as well. Some within the establishment fear that in fact, Mrs. Palin has taken the elephant by the tusks.
The newly victorious Tea Party candidates are coming to Washington in an angry mood to confront the establishment and are in no mood to compromise. It is also very possible that candidates like this could in fact be an important source of support for Sarah Palin if and when she decides to run for President in 2012.
If this news is bad news for the Republican establishment, then the Democrats must be thinking that this is good news for them. They just may look at this as the only good news to come out of November’s recent election.
Mrs. Palin does appear to be one of the most controversial people within American politics. In a recent survey, well over 45% of the respondents view her in a favorable light, while slightly greater percentage dot not view her favorably. She is practically split evenly with favorable versus unfavorable views. However, within the Republican and Tea Parties, she is unquestionably, one of the most popular people on the Right. Her numbers within the Right, are dramatic indeed, with nearly 8 in 10 of those surveyed viewing her favorably compared to less than 20% of those viewing her as unfavorable.
The Tea Party are a loose fitting group of folks that have no established leader such as the Democrats do under President Obama. They essentially run under the Republican banner, but many of them do not really consider themselves to be Republicans. They also have an agenda consisting of disciplined adherence to the Constitution, eventual elimination of the Country’s debt, and balancing the federal budget. Many people view Palin’s endorsements of many of the Tea Party candidate as a deciding factor in their wins in the November election.
Republicans were able to use the Country’s economic problems as a cudgel against Obma and the Democrats to capture a majority within the US House and nearly the Senate as well. Oddly enough, there are some within the Republican establishment who would make the claim that Mrs. Palin, through reckless endorsements of some less than stellar candidates actually cost the GOP control of the senate.
Palin is very cagey when asked about whether or not she will run for President in 2012. She may just be waiting to see how the Tea Party movement will play out or may try to build her base of support a bit more before announcing. However, one point must be mentioned if she decides to run for President. However popular she is with the Right, how will she be able to overcome her high negatives with the left and with the middle of the Country? The hard Right wing would be thrilled with a Palin candidacy, but how can she garner enough support with those outside of the Republican base?
In Levittown on Tuesday, Sarah Palin literally preached to the choir about conservative values, and the propensity of religion to bring people together. She acknowledged that everyone can agree that this country definitely needs God.
She further inspired the choir by speaking about the exceptionalism of and the special place in the world for America. She also talked about the value of a Christian eduction while speaking at the Plumstead Christian School.
Mrs. Palin, who is of course a former Vice Presidential candidate and former Governor of Alaska also slightly teased the crowd with hints concerning a certain big job in which she might be interested. I wonder what job that could possibly be! She asked the person who sang the Ovation, a former student at the school, if he would like to sing at an inauguration. Perhaps she meant her own? This drew many cheers and support from the crowd who had assembled to hear her speak that evening.
One of the most interesting moments of the evening was when she responded to a spontaneous question about what she would do as President. She told the questioner that her first act as President would be to repeal “Obamacare”. This is of course is reference to President Obama’s sweeping legislation, which many conservatives feels is an unwelcome intrusion into people’s personal lives, granting the Federal government too much power. There is also the concern that this initiative by President Obama will cost too much, and will balloon the already bulging deficit. She even went on to characterize the legislation “the mother of all unfunded mandates”.
Overall, it was a great night for Mrs. Palin. The evening also consisted of prayers and of course a tribute to the nation’s armed forces. She then made a quip about giving the students cookies, which might be unfavorable in the eyes of many schools these days. She intended to make a point that some leaders would like to have the power to tell you what is good and not good to eat, but that her faith was in the people to make up their own minds for themselves.
She also referred to the Constitution as a gift and a charter of liberty. She then suggested that people should never be ashamed of their belief and faith in God, as this unites us as a Country.
Mrs. Palin was there at the school that night to help them raise money for the school. The cost that night to hear her speak reportedly ranged as high as $250 per person. She also spoke to students at another much more expensive fund raiser earlier on that same afternoon.
Seemingly from nowhere, Sarah Palin has quickly become an interesting and controversial political and celebrity figure in the United States. Not long ago, I spoke to someone who once strongly supported Sarah Palin, but later withdrew their support when Sarah Palin gave up her governorship at least in part due to politically motivated lawsuits inspired by her opponents. Comments where also made about personal character issues that had been raised in the media about both Mrs. Palin and her family.
These attacks on Palin and her family do seem to have disenchanted some of her supporters, as of course was the intention of those that made these attacks. The media continued the attacks and Sarah had no choice but to do a little “damage control” along with her public relations strategy team.
The Republican team was trying to make her into a celebrity in order to compete with the seemingly unlimited war chest of now President Barak Obama. This PR team seems to have been hoping to create an image that favored the younger, more hip generation (yes you could call that ethically compromised or morally challenged younger generation if you wish). But, who is the “real” Sarah Palin? Is it the carefully crafted image? What is the truth about this enigmatic lady? And is the image portrayed by the Obama’s political image makers the real Obama? Most likely the truth is that neither is accurate.
Of course, few of us have met either of them, and few of us really know their true personal convictions; we can therefore only go by their actions. Many people believe that Sarah Palin is popular with the American People simply because she shares their values, and she is what they themselves wish to be. Many also speak of her traditional moral values and of her respect of our American founders of America.
Most people would say that morality was a very positive influence on the US as it has grown over the last two centuries, but also the demographic flows of the population, and free-enterprise, liberty, freedom, and strength of character garnered from our ancestors who made their way here to build a better life. What percentage did morality play? Hard to say, but it was a big one.
Mrs, Palin though a lightening rod for many is considered by many more to be a leader and perhaps a future President of America. Her every move and comment is followed and debated endlessly. She will continue to be a leader for some and a pariah to others. Her endorsements are coveted by many candidates, but some even say that she actually cost the Republicans control of the Senate in the last election.
She is and will remain for years to come as an enigma. Is she a visionary leader destined to lead this country as President, or merely a celebrity grasping at the brass ring? The answer of course is in the eye of the beholder. One must make up their own mind.
